Prudent Utility Practices definition

Prudent Utility Practices means those practices, methods, techniques and standards, that are generally accepted for use in electric utility industries taking into account conditions in India, and commonly used in prudent electric utility engineering and operations to design, engineer, construct, test, operate and maintain equipment lawfully, safely, efficiently and economically as applicable to power stations of the size, service and type of the Project, and that generally conform to the manufacturers' operation and maintenance guidelines.
Prudent Utility Practices means those practices, methods, techniques and standards, that are generally accepted for use in electric utility industries taking into account conditions in India, and commonly used in prudent electric utility engineering and operations to design, engineer, construct, test, operate and maintain equipment lawfully, safely, efficiently and economically as applicable to power stations of the size, service and type of the Project, and that generally conform to the manufacturer’s operation and maintenance guidelines.
Prudent Utility Practices means the practices, methods and standards that are generally accepted nationally from time to time by electric utilities for the purpose of ensuring the safe, efficient and economic design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of power generation equipment of the type specified in this RFP, as per requirements of Indian Law;

  • The Seller shall ensure that the design of the EPC Works shall be carried out with all proper skill, diligence and care and in all material respects in accordance with this Agreement, including the Specifications, the Laws of Pakistan (including the Seller Consents and the Generation Licence), Prudent Utility Practices and Prudent Electrical Practices, so that the Complex is reasonably expected to provide a useful life of not less than the Term.

More Definitions of Prudent Utility Practices

Prudent Utility Practices bears the meaning ascribed thereto in Section 1 of the Power Purchase Agreement;
Prudent Utility Practices means the prudent utility practices applicable from time to time to the international electric utility industry, having regard to engineering and operational considerations, including manufacturers’ recommendations and, as relates to the Company, having regard to the fact that the Company is a private power producer selling electric energy to an integrated public utility, but these practices are not limited to optimum practices, methods or acts to the exclusion of all others, but rather are a spectrum of possible practices, methods and acts employed by electric utilities and private power producers which could have been expected to accomplish the desired result at reasonable cost consistent with reliability and safety;
Prudent Utility Practices means accepted international practices, standards and engineering and operational considerations, including but not limited to, manufacturers' recommendations and the exercise of reasonable skill, diligence, foresight, and prudence that would be exercised or generally followed in the operation and maintenance of facilities similar to the Facility.
Prudent Utility Practices means any of the practices, methods and acts engaged in, or approved by, a significant portion of the public water supply utility industry in the United States of America during the relevant time period or any of the practices, methods and acts, which in the exercise of reasonable judgment in light of facts known, that should have been known, at the time the decision was made, or could have only been expected to accomplish the desired results at a reasonable cost consistent with applicable legal, engineering, reliability, safety and time requirements.
Prudent Utility Practices means the practices, methods, and acts which, in the exercise of reasonable judgment in light of the facts (including but not limited to the practices, methods, and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of the electric utility industry prior thereto) known at the time the decision was made, would have been expended to accomplish the desired result at the lowest reasonable cost consistent with good business practices, reliability, safety, and expedition, taking into account the facts that the term "prudent utility practice" is not intended to be limited to the optimum practice, methods, or acts to the exclusion of all others, but rather to be a spectrum of possible practices, methods, or acts which could have been expected to accomplish the desired result at the lowest reasonable cost consistent with reliability, safety, and expedition. "Prudent utility practice" includes due regard for manufacturer's warranties and requirements of governmental agencies of competent jurisdiction.
Prudent Utility Practices means, as to the Project, those practices, methods, equipment, specifications and standards of safety and performance, as the same may change from time to time, as are commonly used by electric generation stations in the United States of a type and size similar to the Project, including as to fuel type and configuration of the Project, as good, safe and prudent engineering practices in connection with operation, maintenance, repair, improvement and use of electrical and other equipment, facilities and improvements of such electrical station, with commensurate standards of safety, performance, dependability, efficiency and economy. Prudent Utility Practices does not necessarily mean one particular practice, method, equipment specification or standard in all cases, but is instead intended to encompass a broad range of acceptable practices, methods, equipment specifications and standards.
Prudent Utility Practices means, at a particular time, any of the practices, methods and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of the electric utility industry prior to such time, or any of the practices, methods and acts which, in the exercise of reasonable judgment in light of the facts known at the time the decision was made, could have been expected to accomplish the desired results at the lowest cost consistent with good business practices, reliability, safety and expedition. Prudent Utility Practices is not intended to be limited to the optimum practice, method or act to the exclusion of all others, but rather to be a spectrum of possible practices, methods or acts expected to accomplish the desired results, having due regard for, among other things, manufacturers' warranties and the requirements of Governmental Authorities of competent jurisdiction and the requirement of this Agreement.
