Prudent Utility Practice definition
Prudent Utility Practice means the applicable practices, methods, and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of the electric utility industry in the United States of America, during the relevant time period, or any of the practices, methods and acts which, in the exercise of reasonable judgment by a prudent utility operator, in light of the facts known at the time the decision was made, could have been expected to accomplish the desired result consistent with good business practices, reliability, safety, expedition and the requirements of any governmental authority having jurisdiction. The Parties agree to provide such reasonable cooperation to each other as necessary to give effect to the terms of this Confirmation Agreement.
Prudent Utility Practice means (i) any of the practices, methods, and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of the project related industry in the country and geographic region where the Project is located during the relevant time period, or (ii) practices, methods and acts that, in the exercise of reasonable judgment on the facts known (or that reasonably should have been known) at the time a decision was made, could have been expected to accomplish the desired result at a reasonable cost consistent with good business practices, reliability, safety and expedition.
Prudent Utility Practice means any of the practices, methods and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of the electric utility industry in the region during the relevant time period, or any of the practices, methods and acts that, in the exercise of reasonable judgment in light of the facts known at the time the decision was made, could have been expected to accomplish the desired result at lowest reasonable cost consistent with good business practices, reliability, safety and expedition. “Prudent Utility Practice” is not intended to be limited to the optimum practice, method or act, to the exclusion of all others, but rather to include a spectrum of possible practices, methods or acts generally in acceptance in the region in light of the circumstances.

Upon the occurrence of abnormal operating conditions on a California Purchaser’s system, upon the request of such California Purchaser, the Operating Agent shall increase or decrease such California Purchaser’s schedule consistent with Prudent Utility Practice.
Seller shall, at its expense, maintain throughout the Agreement Term an inventory of spare parts for the Facility in a quantity that is consistent with Prudent Utility Practice.

More Definitions of Prudent Utility Practice
Prudent Utility Practice means those practices, methods, equipment, specifications, standards of safety, and performance, as the same may change from time to time, as are commonly used in the construction, interconnection, operation, and maintenance of electric power facilities, inclusive of delivery, transmission, and generation facilities and ancillaries, which in the exercise of good judgement and in light of the facts known at the time of the decision being made and activity being performed are considered: (i) good, safe, and prudent practices; (ii) are in accordance with generally accepted standards of safety, performance, dependability, efficiency, and economy in the United States; (iii) are in accordance with generally accepted standards of professional care, skill, diligence, and competence in the United States; and, (iv) are in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and/or reliability standards. Prudent Utility Practices are not intended to be limited to the optimum practices, methods or acts to the exclusion of others, but rather are intended to include acceptable practices, methods and acts generally accepted in the energy generation and utility industry.

Prudent Utility Practice means those practices, methods and acts which: (i) when engaged in are commonly used in prudent engineering and operations to operate electric equipment and associated mechanical and civil facilities lawfully and with safety, reliability, efficiency and expedition or (ii) in the exercise of reasonable judgment considering the facts known when engaged in, could have been reasonably expected to achieve the desired result consistent with applicable law, safety, reliability, efficiency and expedition. Prudent Utility Practice is not intended to be the optimum practice, method or act, to the exclusion of all others, but rather to be a spectrum of commonly used practices, methods or acts.
Prudent Utility Practice means those practices, methods and procedures, as modified from time to time, that are currently and commonly used in electric utilities to design, engineer, select, construct, operate, and maintain electric power facilities and equipment dependably, reliably, safely, efficiently, and economically, with due regard to the state- of-the-art in the electric power industry, as applied in the Western Systems Coordinating Council (WSCC) area to the extent such practices are not specified by CAISO Requirements.
Prudent Utility Practice at a particular time means any of the practices, methods, and acts (including but not limited to the practices, methods and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of the sewerage and wastewater utility industry prior thereto), which, in the exercise of reasonable judgment in light of the facts and the characteristics of the System known at the time the decision was made, would have been reasonably expected to accomplish the desired result at reasonable cost consistent with reliability, safety and expedition and good customer relations. Prudent Utility Practice is not intended to be limited to the optimum or minimum practice, method or act, to the exclusion of all others, but rather to be a spectrum of possible practices, methods or acts.
Prudent Utility Practice means, in respect of any particular municipal utility industry, any of the practices, methods and acts which, in the exercise of reasonable judgment, in light of the facts, including but not limited to the practices, methods and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of such utility industry prior thereto, known at the time the decision was made, would have been expected to accomplish the desired result at the lowest reasonable cost consistent with reliability, safety, and expedition. It is recognized that Prudent Utility Practice is not intended to be limited to the optimum practice, method or act to the exclusion of all others, but rather is a spectrum of possible practices, methods or acts which could have been expected to accomplish the desired result at the lowest reasonable cost consistent with reliability, safety and expedition.
