Eligible Family Member definition

Eligible Family Member means a member of the Subscriber’s family that is or becomes eligible to enroll for coverage under this Plan as a Dependent.

  • A person may become a Newly Eligible Family Member as the result of:  A change in the Subscriber’s marital or domestic partnership status.

  • An Initial Enrollment Period is the period of time during which an Eligible Employee and Eligible Family Member may enroll under this Plan as shown in the GEA signed by the Group.

  • Coverage under this paragraph shall extend to persons covered under the Health Plan as Eligible Family Members at the time of the Employee’s retirement unless they cease to be an Eligible Family Member during the period of coverage for the retired Employee.

  • An individual may become a newly Eligible Family Member as the result of:  A change in the Subscriber’s marital or domestic partnership status.

  • Eligible Family Member B does not need to claim his or her employee benefits because he or she will receive health and dental coverage under Spouse Eligible Family Member A.


More Definitions of Eligible Family Member

Eligible Family Member means the employee's spouse, parent (natural, adoptive, foster, and stepparent), child (natural, adoptive, foster, and stepchild), or any other family or household member who is financially or legally dependent upon the employee or who resides with the employee for the purpose of the employee providing care to the family member.
Eligible Family Member has the same meaning as provided in Seattle Municipal Code 4.24.005(A); and “health care professional” has the same meaning as provided in Seattle Municipal Code 4.24.005(B). Dependent Care Leave may not be used for any other purpose.

Eligible Family Member as used in this Article shall mean the eligible employee’s legal spouse, registered domestic partner, and children from birth to the end of the month in which the dependent children reach age twenty-six (26). An adopted child, stepchild, natural child recognized by the parent, or a child living with the employee in a parent child relationship who is economically dependent upon the employee at the time of enrollment of the child, and annually thereafter up to the age of twenty-six (26) is also eligible. A family member who is a disabled child over age twenty-six (26) may also be enrolled if, at the time of initial enrollment of the employee, satisfactory evidence of such disability is presented to the carrier consistent with the carrier’s requirements. Upon attaining age twenty-six (26), a disabled child who is already enrolled may be continued in enrollment if satisfactory evidence of that disability is filed with the carrier in accordance with the carrier’s criteria. Eligibility for family members is defined by CalPERS.
Eligible Family Member as used in this Article shall mean the eligible Teaching Associate employee’s legal spouse, registered domestic partner (through the Secretary of State registration process), and unmarried children from birth to the end of the month in which the dependent children reach age twenty (26). Upon attaining age twenty six (26), a disabled child who is already enrolled may be continued in enrollment if satisfactory evidence of that disability is filed with the carrier in accordance with the carrier’s criteria.
Eligible Family Member includes the employee’s registered domestic partner as defined pursuant to Family Code Section 297 et seq. and subject to the Secretary of State’s registration process.
