Xxxxxxx Notice of Disciplinary Action. At any time an appeal is submitted for decision, the Department Director or designated authority may, with the consent of the City Manager, amend the disciplinary action or provide a supplemental notice of disciplinary action. A decision not to impose any disciplinary action should be accompanied by a directive from the Department Director to delete all references to the pending action from the employee's personnel file(s). Failure by the Department Director to make further investigations or to provide an additional written answer shall not affect the ability of the City to impose disciplinary action. If the amended or supplemental notice of disciplinary action presents new causes or allegations, the employee shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to prepare a response, but the employee shall not be required to file a further appeal. Any objections to the amended or supplemental causes or allegations may be made verbally or in writing during the appeal interview.
