Tardiness and Brief Absences. 8.1 Unavoidable or necessary absence from duty of less than one hour may be handled administratively in any of the following ways:
Tardiness and Brief Absences. Employees may be granted admin leave for a period not to exceed one (1) hour for occasional tardiness when the supervisor determines the cause of the tardiness to be reasonable and non-recurring, i.e., unanticipated traffic delays. However, employees are expected to make every reasonable effort to report to work on time.
Tardiness and Brief Absences. Brief absences from duty of less than an hour and tardiness may be excused when the reasons are justifiable to the supervisor. When not justifiable, the absence must be made up or charged to an appropriate leave account; in addition, the absence may become the basis for disciplinary action. This amount may increase where inclement weather and other disasters cause numbers of employees to be unable to reach work on time. The Employer and the Union recognize the difficulty of maintaining uniform standards, therefore, each case shall be considered on its own merits.
Tardiness and Brief Absences. Brief absences from duty of less than one (1) hour and occasional tardiness up to one (1) hour may be excused when reasons are justifiable to the supervisor.

  • LEAVES OF ABSENCE AND BEREAVEMENT PAY 21.01 The Employer may grant leaves of absence without pay, for a time mutually agreed upon between the Employer and the employee, for the following reasons:

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.

  • Leaves of Absences 14.01 Written requests for personal leaves of absence without pay for educational or personal reasons will be considered on an individual basis by the employee’s manager or her designate. Such requests are to be submitted as far in advance as possible with a minimum notice of four (4) weeks except in cases of emergency or if the Employer determines that service needs and staffing requirements can accommodate a leave on shorter notice. A written reply will be given as soon as possible. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld. Except in unusual circumstances, a leave of absence other than for educational reasons will not be granted until one year’s continuous service has been completed.

  • Other Leaves of Absence In the event that you are on a bona fide leave of absence, not otherwise described in this definition, from which you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, your Separation from Service has occurred on the first day on which your leave of absence period exceeds six months or, if earlier, upon your termination of employment (provided that such termination of employment constitutes a Separation from Service in accordance with the last sentence of the first paragraph of this definition).

  • General Leaves of Absence A. Upon written request from the employee and upon approval of the College President, unpaid leave of absence may be granted to any employee for such things as: (a) illness; (b) family emergency; (c) maternity/paternity; (d) adoption; (e) education; and (f) military leave. The terms of the leave of absence will be confirmed in writing by the College.

  • Reporting Absences (a) Employees are responsible to report to work on time on each scheduled work day.

  • STATUTORY LEAVES OF ABSENCE/SEB C11.1 Family Medical Leave or Critically Ill Child Care Leave

  • Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.

  • SICKNESS ABSENCE Absence Due to Sickness or Quarantine Prior to the Eighth Full Calendar Day of Absence

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.
