Section 8.1.3. Unworked Holidays. 16 Eligible employees shall receive pay equal to their normal work shift at their base rate in effect 17 at the time the holiday occurs. An employee who is on the active payroll on the holiday and has 18 worked either his/her last scheduled shift preceding the holiday or his/her first scheduled shift 19 succeeding the holiday, and is not on leave of absence, shall be eligible for pay for such 20 unworked holiday. An exception to this requirement will occur if the employee can furnish 21 such shifts, and his/her absence previous to such holiday by reason of such illness has not been 22 longer than thirty (30) regular workdays.

Employees who are on the active payroll on the holiday, and are not 27 on leave of absence, shall be eligible for pay for such unworked holiday, provided however, the 28 employee worked his or her regular work shift on the day immediately prior to and following 29 the holiday. An exception to this requirement may be made if the employee goes on paid sick 30 leave and the absence has not been longer than thirty (30) regular workdays. Employees may 31 use personal leave or vacation in conjunction with a holiday and receive holiday pay.

  • Designated Holidays A part-time employee shall not be paid for the designated holidays but shall, instead be paid a premium of four and one-quarter (4.25%) per cent for all straight-time hours during the period of part-time employment.

  • Substitute Holidays The Appointing Authority may, after consultation with the Association, designate alternate days for the observance of Veterans Day and Presidents' Day.

  • Vacations and Holidays The Executive will be entitled to three (3) weeks' paid vacation each calendar year in accordance with the vacation policies of the Employer in effect for its executive officers from time to time. The Executive will also be entitled to the paid holidays and other paid leave set forth in the Employer's policies. Vacation days during any calendar year that are not used by the Executive during such calendar year may be used in any subsequent calendar year; provided, however, that no more than six weeks' paid vacation may be accrued or carried forward.
