Professional and Education Leaves. Where an employee is required by the Employer to attend any training program, course or workshop, the Employer agrees to pay any applicable fee and the Employer agrees to compensate such employees for the time off from work as the result of attending the training program, course or workshop. Notwithstanding the foregoing, employees shall be entitled to one day per calendar year with pay to attend employment related workshops/courses approved by the Administrator. Where workshops/courses are in excess of one day, authorization must be received from the Administrator to take the additional days off. To facilitate that authorization, staff may switch shifts, use vacation days or banked paid holidays.
