Pay For Used Sick Leave Credits. Sick leave payment shall be computed at the employee’s regular base rate of pay. Payment for a partial day’s absence will be to the nearest hour recorded for the absence. Sick leave pay for absence due to illness shall not be in excess of five (5) days in any one calendar year except where an employee has exercised his option under the provisions of Sec- tion SECTION Use of Sick Leave Credits Sick leave credits are to be used only in the event of absence due to the following causes: (a) illness of employee, and medical or dental appointments which can be scheduled only during the working hours. In order to be entitled to sick leave pay, an employee must notify the Company on or prior to the day of absence due to illness or appointment. The employee, or a per- son authorized to do so in behalf, shall call the Switch- board for plant or supervisor and advise of such absence due to illness or appointment. Sick leave is not a form of vacation, and only in justifiable cases will sick leave be approved to come directly before or after vacation. For an employee to obtain approval of such paid sick leave, a written request must have been filed by the em- ployee with the Company setting out the reasons therefor and enclosing substantiating evidence acceptable to the Company.

  • Sick Leave Credits Regular employees who have completed their probationary period will accrue sick leave credits at the rate of one day per month to a maximum of 156 days. Upon completion of their probationary period, an employee will be credited with sick leave back to the employee's starting date. The Board of Education will have an expectation that those teachers in attendance at school functions will assume a reasonable amount of general supervision as needed.

  • Sick Leave Credit ‌ All employees will be able to draw on a block of nine days' sick leave when they commence employment. If all or part of this block of sick leave is used it will be paid back as sick leave is accumulated. If an employee ceases employment and has a negative balance in sick leave credits, this amount will be deducted from his/her final paycheque.

  • Vacation Leave Credits ‌ Full-time and part-time employees will be credited with vacation leave accrued monthly, according to the rate schedule and vacation leave accrual below.

  • Accumulation of Vacation Leave Credits 31.1.1 An employee shall earn in respect of each fiscal year, annual vacation leave with pay at the following rates for each calendar month in which the employee receives at least seventy-five (75) hours’ pay:
