Overtime and Excess of the Standard Scheduled Shift. All time worked in excess of forty (40) hours during a designated seven (7) day period will be considered overtime, unless the employee is assigned to work eighty (80) hours during a designated 14-day period, in which case all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours during any one day or in excess of 80 hours during the 14-day period will be considered overtime. All time worked in excess of twelve (12) consecutive hours will also be considered overtime. Overtime shall also include all time worked in excess of the employee’s standard scheduled shift of at least eight (8) hours on any regular scheduled workday after the third full pay period following ratification. Employees assigned to 9, 10 and/or 12 hours shifts will receive overtime when working in excess of their standard scheduled shift. All overtime must be properly authorized by the Employer. All hours worked are paid even if not authorized. All overtime will be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the employee’s regular rate of pay, including shift differentials, and will be paid according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. This may also include items such as other differentials and other premium pay, if applicable. There will be no pyramiding or duplication of overtime pay. Non- worked hours are not included for purposes of determining overtime such as on-call hours, paid time off, jury duty, bereavement and any paid leaves of absence.

Effective the first full pay period following the date of ratification, all employees in a CNA, PTS, or Unit Coordinator position, currently in an 08/80 assignment, will be transitioned to an 08/40. All time worked in excess of twelve (12) consecutive hours will also be considered overtime. All time worked in excess of the employee’s standard scheduled shift of at least eight (8) hours will also be considered overtime. Employees assigned to 9, 10 and/or 12 hours shifts will receive overtime when working in excess of their standard scheduled shift. All overtime must be properly authorized by the Employer.   • Unit Weekend Schedule A unit weekend schedule may be developed in order to meet the Hospital’s need for weekend staff, and individual nurses’ preference for a weekend work schedule. A unit weekend schedule is defined as a schedule in which a full-time nurse works a weekly average of thirty (30) hours and is paid for 37.5 hours at her or his regular straight time hourly rate. The schedule must include two 11.25 hour tours, which fall within a weekend period as determined by the Hospital and the Association. A nurse working a weekend schedule will work every weekend except as provided for in the provisions below. If the Hospital and the Association agree to a unit weekend schedule, the introduction of that schedule and the manner in which the position(s) are filled, shall be determined by the local parties and recorded in the Appendix of Local Provisions. This unit schedule may be discontinued by either party with notice as determined within the Appendix of Local Provisions. The opportunity for an individual nurse to discontinue this schedule shall be resolved by the local parties:

  • Unusual Job Requirements of Short Duration ‌ The nature of health care is such that at times it may be necessary for an employee to perform work not normally required in his/her job for the safety, health or comfort of a client or resident. It is understood that an employee shall not be expected to perform a task for which he/she is not adequately trained.

  • PREVAILING WAGE RATES - PUBLIC WORKS AND BUILDING SERVICES CONTRACTS If any portion of work being Bid is subject to the prevailing wage rate provisions of the Labor Law, the following shall apply:

  • Overtime Rest Periods If an employee is assigned one (1) or more hours of overtime work contiguous to his/her regular workshift or is called back within one (1) hour of his/her scheduled quitting time, the Agency will provide a fifteen (15) minute rest period after two (2) hours of overtime completed.

  • Weekend Scheduling It is the policy of the Employer to schedule those nurses who so desire every other weekend off, with the exception of those nurses who have signed an authorization to work consecutive weekends. Nurses who have volunteered to work consecutive weekends may withdraw such authorization upon two (2) weeks’ written notice prior to the date a new schedule must be posted.

  • Overtime-Eligible Rest Periods ‌ The Employer and the Union agree to rest periods that vary from and supersede the rest periods required by WAC 000-000-000. Employees will be allowed rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes for each one-half (1/2) shift of four (4) or more hours worked at or near the middle of each one-half (1/2) shift of four (4) or more hours. Rest periods do not require relief from duty. Rest periods may not be used for late arrival or early departure from work and rest and meal periods will not be combined.

  • GEOGRAPHIC AREA AND SECTOR SPECIFIC ALLOWANCES, CONDITIONS AND EXCEPTIONS The following allowances and conditions shall apply where relevant: Where the company does work which falls under the following headings, the company agrees to pay and observe the relevant respective conditions and/or exceptions set out below in each case.

  • Overtime or Callout Which Does Not Abut the Succeeding Shift (1) When overtime is worked there shall be an elapsed time of eight hours between the end of overtime and the time the employee reports for duty on the next regular shift, with no shortfall out of their regular shift.

  • Annual Leave Loading (a) In addition to their ordinary pay, an employee, other than a shiftworker, will be paid an annual leave loading of 17.5% of their ordinary pay on a maximum of 152 hours/four weeks annual leave per annum.

  • Overtime-Eligible Unpaid Meal Periods ‌ The Employer and the Union agree to unpaid meal periods that vary from and supersede the unpaid meal period requirements of WAC 000-000-000. Unpaid meal periods for employees working more than five (5) consecutive hours, if entitled, will be a minimum of thirty (30) minutes and will be scheduled as close to the middle of the work shift as possible. Employees working three (3) or more hours longer than a normal workday will be allowed an additional thirty (30) minute unpaid meal period. When an employee’s unpaid meal period is interrupted by work duties, the employee will be allowed to resume their unpaid meal period following the interruption, if possible, to complete the unpaid meal period. In the event an employee is unable to complete the unpaid meal period due to operational necessity, the employee will be entitled to compensation, which will be computed based on the actual number of minutes worked within the unpaid meal period. Meal periods may not be used for late arrival or early departure from work and meal and rest periods will not be combined.
