Observation of Public Holidays. Whenever a public holiday falls on a Saturday or a Sunday and is observed on a weekday, that weekday shall be treated as the public holiday for purposes of attracting premium rates for employees whose duties normally require them to work on that day, and work performed on the Saturday or Sunday shall not attract public holiday premium rates. However, if prior to the beginning of any calendar year the Board and the Union agree to recognize the Saturday or the Sunday as the premium day for those employees whose duties normally require them to work on public holidays, they may do so, but there may only be one premium day for such employees with respect to any one public holiday.

Observation of Public Holidays. Where Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or 1 or 2 January falls on a Saturday or Sunday, and an employee does not normally work on a Saturday or Sunday, the holiday will be observed on the following Monday or Tuesday.   • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Holiday Rules The following rules apply to all holidays except the personal holiday:

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.

  • Legal Holidays In any case where the date on which any payment is due shall not be a Business Day, then (notwithstanding any other provision of the Notes or this Indenture) payment need not be made on such date, but may be made on the next succeeding Business Day with the same force and effect as if made on the date on which nominally due, and no interest shall accrue for the period from and after any such nominal date.
