Natural Resources Studies. The Contractor may be tasked per individual TOs to review, revise, amend, or assist in the data preparation for reports and plans for natural resources and to conduct associated field work for natural resource work including, but not necessarily limited to, the following types of tasks: threatened and endangered species determinations based on existing data/reports and/or installation field surveys; assessment, management, and permitting of wetlands and floodplains; fish and wildlife resource management including specific flora/fauna surveys (bird counts, habitat surveys, deer counts, and endangered species surveys); ground-truth GIS identified habitat classifications; development of Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans; Fish and Wildlife Management Plans; Coastal Zone Resources assessment and management; Habitat Evaluation Procedures (HEP); environmental monitoring during/after construction; pre-impoundment and post-impoundment environmental studies; Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM); Landscape Management Plans; Forestry Management Plans; preparation of resource plans for grazing and cropland; and water, energy, and mineral resources, in addition to other natural resource investigations. The Contractor may also be tasked to evaluate Natural Resources compliance of all installation activities. The Contractor will coordinate with installation natural resources staff to stay cognizant of installation activities with the greatest potential for natural resources damage or impacts. The Contractor will monitor installation operations to safeguard wetlands, storm water, listed species and sensitive habitats and may help train installation staff and others to understand potential natural resources impacts and how to avoid or minimize those impacts. In any of these studies, the Contractor may be required to use a team composed of diverse disciplines or provide technical expert(s) to coordinate with a Government team.   • Cultural Resources If a cultural resource is discovered, the Purchaser shall immediately suspend all operations in the vicinity of the cultural resource and notify the Forest Officer. Operations may only resume if authorized by the Forest Officer. Cultural resources identified and protected elsewhere in this contract are exempted from this clause. Cultural resources, once discovered or identified, are not to be disturbed by the Purchaser, or his, her or its employees and/or sub- contractors.
