NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES. Regarding MBTA Passes This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, acting through the Human Resources Division and the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE). Contingent on compliance with all federal and state regulations, and as soon as is administratively feasible for the Employer, the Commonwealth agrees to deduct the permissible cost of MBTA passes from an employee’s salary on a pre-tax basis for all employees who wish to participate in such a program. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS AND THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES Regarding Article 7, Section 2 This Memorandum of understanding is entered into between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, acting through the Human Resources Division and the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE). This Memorandum reflects a clarification of Article 7, Section 2 of the NAGE Agreement concerning a payment of overtime for part-time employees who are regularly scheduled to work fewer than thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) hours per week.

However, if an employee is assigned to a smoking cessation program by the Department, the employee will be compensated for the hours they attend the program.
