Bereavement Leave With Pay For the purpose of this Article, immediate family is defined as father, mother (or alternatively step-father, step-mother or xxxxxx parent), brother, sister, spouse (including common-law partner residing with the employee), child (including child of common-law partner), step-child or xxxx of the employee, grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, or mother-in-law, and any relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee permanently resides.
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE 1. Military leave without pay shall be granted to any employee who is inducted in any branch of the armed forces of the United States for the period of said service.
Leave of Absence for Union Functions a) Upon request to the Employer, an Employee elected or appointed to represent the Union at conventions shall be allowed leave of absence with pay and benefits.
Negotiation Leave The Employer shall allow two (2) employees time off without pay for the purpose of attending negotiations for the renewal of the Collective Agreement.
Employment Relations Education Leave The Employer shall grant leave on pay for employees party to this MECA to attend courses authorised by NZNO to facilitate the employee’s education and training as employee representatives in the workplace. The numbers of days education leave granted is based on the formula of 35 days per annum for the first 280 full time equivalent employees (employees covered by this MECA who have authorised the NZNO to act on their behalf) and a further five days per annum for every 100 full time equivalent employees thereafter. Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

Abuse of Sick Leave Misuse of leave, violation of orders, directives, or contractual requirements concerning the use of sick leave and other forms of leave used in lieu of sick leave are cause for disciplinary action.
Extended Absences In the event Tenant will be away from the Premises for more than 7 consecutive days, Tenant agrees to notify Landlord in writing of such absence. During such absence, Landlord may enter the premises at times reasonable necessary to maintain the property and inspect for damages and needed repairs.
Splitting of Vacation Periods Annual vacation for employees with 10 days’ vacation or more shall be granted in one continuous period but may, upon request from the employee, be divided, subject to the approval of the Employer, provided that the following shall apply:
