Leave for Professional Development. a. The Administration recognizes the importance of professional development and will endeavor to provide such opportunities to staff members. Staff members who have served at least one (1) year full-time may be granted short-term leaves of absence to pursue professional development at workshops, seminars, training, and conventions. This leave shall be granted at regular pay and the recipient, upon the termination of the leave, shall return to his/her duties at the College. Application for such leaves shall be made to the appropriate Vice President, President, or their designees thirty (30) working days prior to the date for which the leave is requested. In certain circumstances, shorter notice for such leave may be considered.

Staff members Members who have served at least one two (12) year years full-time may be granted short-short- term leaves of absence to pursue professional development at workshops, seminars, training, seminars and conventionsconventions which are related to the performance of the member’s duties and responsibilities or to those performed in other positions at the college. This leave shall be granted at regular pay and the recipient, recipient upon the termination of the leave, leave shall return to his/her duties at the College. Application for such leaves leave shall be made through the immediate supervisor to the appropriate Associate Vice President, President, or their designees thirty President for Administration for approval six (306) working days weeks prior to the date for which the leave is requested. In certain circumstances, shorter notice for such leave may be considered.
