Common use of Emergency Leave of Absence Clause in Contracts

Emergency Leave of Absence. 19.01 An employee under Employment Standards Act is entitled to take up to ten (10) unpaid leave of absence days to attend to a personal illness, injury or medical emergency in respect to an employees spouse, parent, step parent, xxxxxx parent, same sex partner, child, step child, xxxxxx child, grandparent, step grandparent, step grandchild, brother, sister or a relative of the employee who is dependent on the employee for care or assistance. Such leave shall be deemed to have been taken in entire days.
