Emergency Care Urgent Care Benefits. 1. A Member is covered for Emergency Services, provided the service is a Covered Benefit, and HMO's medical review determines that the Member’s symptoms were severe, occurred suddenly, and immediate medical attention was sought by Member. Medically necessary Emergency Services shall include psychiatric emergency care and care related to alcohol use and abuse including: • immediate medical evaluation and care; • medical management of intoxicated persons until no longer incapacitated by the effects of alcohol; and or • initiation of other appropriate health services needed for continuity or care. Emergency Services related to drug abuse and addiction shall include treatment for overdose and adverse reactions to psycho-tropic substances such as barbiturates, amphetamines, hallucinogens (including marijuana), tranquilizers and narcotics. The Copayment for an emergency room visit as described on the Schedule of Benefits will not apply either in the event that the Member was referred for such visit by the Member’s PCP for services that should have been rendered in the PCP’s office or if the Member is admitted into the Hospital. The Member will be reimbursed for the cost for Emergency Services rendered by a non- participating Provider located either within or outside the HMO Service Area, for those expenses, less Copayments, which are incurred up to the time the Member is determined by HMO and the attending Physician to be medically able to travel or to be transported to a Participating Provider. In the event that transportation is Medically Necessary, the Member will be reimbursed for the cost as determined by HMO, minus any applicable Copayments. Reimbursement may be subject to payment by the Member of all Copayments which would have been required had similar benefits been provided during office hours and upon prior Referral to a Participating Provider. Medical transportation is covered during a Medical Emergency.

Emergency Care Urgent Care Benefits. 1. A Member is covered for Emergency Services for treatment of a Medical Emergency, provided the service is a Covered Benefit, and HMO's medical review determines that the Member’s symptoms were severe, occurred suddenly, and immediate medical attention was sought by Member. A Medical Emergency is a medical condition manifesting itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity, including but not limited to, severe pain, or by acute symptoms developing from a chronic medical condition that would lead a prudent layperson, possessing an average knowledge of health and medicine, to reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: 1) placing the health of a Member or with respect to a pregnant women, the health of the female Member or her unborn child in serious jeopardy 2) serious impairment to bodily functions 3) serious dysfunction to any bodily organ or part. The Copayment for an emergency room visit as described on the Schedule of Benefits will not apply either in the event that the Member was referred for such visit by the Member’s PCP for services that should have been rendered in the PCP’s office or if the Member is admitted into the Hospital.   • Health Care Benefits (a) Each regular full-time employee may elect coverage for himself and his eligible dependents* under one of the following health insurance plans:

  • Extended Health Care Benefits 12.02(a) The City will provide for all employees by contract through an insurer selected by the City an Extended Health Care Plan which will provide extended health care benefits. The City shall pay one hundred per cent (100%) of the premiums, which will include any premiums payable under The Health Insurance Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended.   • Medical Care Leave An Employee who is unable to make the necessary arrangements for maintenance of personal health care outside of scheduled work time, shall be granted time off with pay. Such time off shall not exceed sixteen (16) working hours per calendar year. Hours in excess of sixteen (16) hours per calendar year shall be deducted from the Employee's sick leave accumulation.

  • Urgent Care This plan covers services received at an urgent care center. For other services, such as surgery or diagnostic tests, the amount that you pay is based on the type of service being provided. See Summary of Medical Benefits for details. Follow-up care (such as suture removal or wound care) should be obtained from your primary care provider or specialist.

  • Emergency Care If you need emergency care, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. If you are traveling outside our service area and need urgent care, call the Customer Service number provided in the chart above or visit our website and use the “Find A Doctor” feature to find a BlueCard provider.

  • Medical Care and Emergency Leave An employee is entitled to a leave of absence without pay because of any of the following:

  • Patient Care Resident shall participate in safe, effective, and compassionate patient care, under supervision, commensurate with Resident's level of advancement and responsibility.

  • Dental Care Plan The Welfare Plan will include a Dental Care Plan which will reimburse members for expenses incurred in respect of the coverages summarized in Appendix "1". The Plan will not duplicate benefits provided now or which may be provided in the future by any government program.

  • Family Care and Medical Leave An unpaid Family Care and Medical Leave shall be granted, to the extent of and subject to the restrictions as set forth below, to an employee who has been employed for at least twelve (12) months and who has served for 130 workdays during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the effective date of the leave. For purposes of this Section, furlough days and days worked during off-basis time shall count as "workdays". Family Care and Medical Leave absences of twenty (20) consecutive working days or less can be granted by the immediate administrator or designee. Leaves of twenty (20) or more consecutive working days can be granted only by submission of a formal leave application to the Personnel Commission.

  • Dependent Care Assistance Program The County offers the option of enrolling in a Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) designed to qualify for tax savings under Section 129 of the Internal Revenue Code, but such savings are not guaranteed. The program allows employees to set aside up to five thousand dollars ($5,000) of annual salary (before taxes) per calendar year to pay for eligible dependent care (child and elder care) expenses. Any unused balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered by the employee.
