Rehabilitation counseling definition

Rehabilitation counseling means services provided by qualified personnel in individual or group sessions that focus specifically on career development, employment preparation, achieving independence, and integration in the workplace and community of a student with a disability who receives services under the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The term also includes vocational rehabilitation services provided to a student with disabilities by vocational rehabilitation programs funded under the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
Rehabilitation counseling means professional activities that are intended to assist a person with a physical handicap, defect, or injury as defined in C.R.S. § 26-8-105(2)(a), (b), or (c) to learn or to relearn to perform routine daily functions including, but not limited to, eating, dressing, transportation, or employment.
Rehabilitation counseling which means assisting an individual or group, through the counseling relationship, to define vocational goals, and to plan actions reflecting his or their interests, abilities, aptitudes, and needs as these are related to rehabilitation concerns, educations progress, and occupations and careers.
