Definition of Health care practitioner


Health care practitioner means any person who engages in acts that are subject to licensure or regulation under this division or under any initiative act referred to in this division.


Health care practitioner means a physician/surgeon licensed under Title 58, Chapter 67, Utah Medical Practice Act, or Title 58, Chapter 68, Utah Osteopathic Medical Practice Act, an advanced practice registered nurse licensed under Title 58, Chapter 31b, Nurse Practice Act, a podiatrist under Title 58, Chapter 5A, Podiatric Physician Licensing Act, or a physician assistant licensed under Title 58, Chapter 70a, Physician Assistant Practice Act, acting within the appropriate scope of practice.

Health care practitioner means an individual or firm licensed or certified to engage actively in a regulated health profession.

Health care practitioner means a physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches under the Medical Practice Act of 1987, a physician assistant under the Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987 with prescriptive authority, or an advanced practice registered nurse with prescribing authority under Article 65 of the Nurse Practice Act.


Health care practitioner means an individual licensed under Iowa Code chapter 148 to practice medicine and surgery or osteopathic medicine and surgery who is a patient’s primary care provider. “Health care practitioner” shall not include a physician assistant licensed under Iowa Code chapter 148C or an advanced registered nurse practitioner licensed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 152 or 152E.
