Medical Benefits Continuation definition

Medical Benefits Continuation. Means, subject to a Participant’s (a) timely election of continuation coverage under COBRA, with respect to the Company’s group health insurance plans in which such Participant participated immediately prior to the Separation from Service and (b) continued payment by such Participant of premiums for such plans at the “active employee” rate (excluding, for purposes of calculating cost, Participant’s ability to pay premiums with pre-tax dollars), the Company shall provide COBRA continuation coverage for such Participant and his or her eligible dependents until the earliest of (x) expiration of twelve (12) months following the date of the Separation From Service, (y) Participant or his or her eligible dependents, as the case may be, ceasing to be eligible under COBRA, and (z) Participant becoming eligible for coverage under the health insurance plan of a subsequent employer. If the Company is unable to provide, or is unable to continue to provide, Medical Benefits Continuation as contemplated hereunder due to restrictions imposed by law, the Company shall pay Participant a cash amount equal to the number of months remaining in the severance period multiplied by the applicable active employee rate.

Examples of Medical Benefits Continuation in a sentence

  • A Participant is eligible to receive (a) periodic severance payments for a duration of 12 (twelve) months following date of Separation From Service and (b) Medical Benefits Continuation.

  • A Participant is eligible to receive (a) periodic severance payments for a duration of 18 (eighteen) months following date of Separation From Service and (b) Medical Benefits Continuation.

  • Benefits Continuation Period has the meaning set forth in Section 6.01(b).

  • Medical Benefits means the monthly fair market value of benefits provided to the Employee and the Employee’s dependents under the major medical, dental and vision benefit plans sponsored and maintained by the Company, at the level of coverage in effect for such persons immediately prior to the Employee’s termination of employment date. The “monthly fair market value” of such benefits shall be equal to the monthly cost as if such persons elected COBRA continuation coverage at such time at their own expense.

  • Benefit Continuation Period means the period beginning on the Date of Termination and ending on the last day of the month in which occurs the earlier of (i) the 24-month anniversary of the Date of Termination and (ii) the date on which you elect coverage for you and your covered dependents under substantially comparable benefit plans of a subsequent employer.

  • Continuation Coverage means coverage under a COBRA continuation provision or a similar state program. Coverage provided by a plan that is subject to a COBRA continuation provision or similar state program, but that does not satisfy all the requirements of that provision or program, will be deemed to be continuation coverage if it allows an individual to elect to continue coverage for a period of at least 18 months. Continuation coverage does not include coverage under a conversion policy required to be offered to an individual upon exhaustion of continuation coverage, nor does it include continuation coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

  • Continuation Period shall have the meaning set forth in Section 6.9(a).

  • Health Benefits means health maintenance organization, insured or self-funded medical, dental, vision, prescription drug and behavioral health benefits.

  • Compensation and Benefits Programs means all compensation and benefit plans, policies, and programs of the Debtors, and all amendments and modifications thereto, applicable to the Debtors’ employees, former employees, retirees, and non-employee directors and the employees, former employees and retirees of their subsidiaries, including all savings plans, retirement plans, health care plans, disability plans, and incentive plans, deferred compensation plans, and life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance plans.

  • Welfare Benefits means the types of benefits described in Section 3(1) of ERISA (whether or not covered by ERISA).

  • Dental means of or relating to the teeth and the work of a dentist.

  • Executive Severance Plan means the Company’s Senior Executive Employee Severance Pay Plan, as in effect from time to time.

  • COBRA Continuation Coverage means the health care benefit continuation coverage mandated by the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act and similar provisions of state law.

  • Retiree Health Plan means an "employee welfare benefit plan" within the meaning of Section 3(1) of ERISA that provides benefits to individuals after termination of their employment, other than as required by Section 601 of ERISA.

  • superannuation benefits means pensions, gratuities and other allowances payable on resignation, retirement or death;

  • Retirement Benefits means benefits paid by reference to reaching, or the expectation of reaching, retirement or, where they are supplementary to those benefits and provided on an ancillary basis, in the form of payments on death, disability, or cessation of employment or in the form of support payments or services in case of sickness, indigence or death. In order to facilitate financial security in retirement, these benefits may take the form of payments for life, payments made for a temporary period, a lump sum, or any combination thereof;

  • Retiree means any person who has begun accruing a retirement

  • COBRA Continuation Period means the continuation period for medical and dental insurance to be provided under the terms of this Agreement which shall commence on the first day of the calendar month following the month in which the date of termination falls and generally shall continue for an 18 month period.

  • Severance Benefits mean the payment of severance compensation as provided in Section 2.3 herein.

  • Health and Welfare Benefits means any form of insurance or similar benefit programs, which may include but not be limited to, medical, hospitalization, surgical, prescription drug, dental, optical, psychiatric, life, or long-term disability.

  • Severance Benefit means the payment of severance compensation as provided in Article III.
