Benefits During Leave definition

Benefits During Leave. An employee on FMLA leave will be continued on the District’s health plans in the same manner as active employees except that the employee must make arrangements with the District for payment of the employee’s share of premiums. In the event that an employee fails to return from FMLA leave, the employee will be liable for the premiums paid by the District to maintain insurance coverage unless the employee’s failure to return to work is due to: 1) the continuation, recurrence, or onset of a serious health condition of the employee or a family member, or 2) circumstances beyond the control of the employee.
