More Definitions of Addressed

Addressed means DOD completed actions to address all elements of the requirement. “Partially addressed” means DOD has taken actions to address some, half, or most of the elements of a requirement, irrespective of whether DOD has completed its actions or plans additional actions to address the requirement. “Not addressed” means DOD did not address any elements of the requirement or has no plans to begin addressing it. In assessing DOD’s actions to address requirements, we reviewed our prior work concerning MHS reform to make our determinations. In those cases where we made recommendations that are still open, we noted those recommendations in the report in support of partially addressed or unaddressed requirements. We did not assess the timeliness of any requirements. Finally, we identified four requirements in the Private- Sector Care category that were within our scope of MHS reforms but for which we were unable to determine the extent to which DOD addressed them. This occurred for various reasons, such as information that DOD was required to post online no longer being available. We note these requirements as appropriate in the report, but do not include them in our counts of DOD’s actions. For requirements for written products or briefings, we determined that the requirement was addressed if the report or briefing was provided, even if one or more individual elements of the required report or briefing were not included. We discuss some elements of requirements for written products or briefings in this report for illustrative purposes.
Addressed means relevant legislation is enacted and addresses all aspects of the action needed;51
Addressed means only talking about them. Beyond that, the "results" above report the actions. However, these have not led to remedy.
Addressed means that in the case of a SV, the implementing agency has issued a non-penalty action that notifies the violator of its violations. In the case of a SNC, the implementing agency has issued a formal enforcement action that compels compliance (i.e., initial or unilateral orders) or referred the violator to the State Attorney General offices, EPA, or the Department of Justice) and imposes appropriate sanctions. If the SNC violations are addressed with an action such as an order issued under RCRA §§ 3013 or 7003 or State equivalent authority, then the implementing agency should follow-up with an action imposing sanctions.
