Academic Grievance definition

Academic Grievance means an adverse decision relating to a student’s course of study, course(s), grade about which a student submits a Student Complaint. An academic grievance does not include a faculty member’s administrative withdrawal of a student who has accumulated unofficial absences in excess of the number of times indicated in the faculty member’s attendance policy in the course syllabus (See, Attendance Appeal Process.)
Academic Grievance means a complaint by a student concerning a decision, act or omission of a member of UOW staff or committee, which affects the student's academic experience. Examples of the types of complaints that may be covered by this definition follow:

Examples of Academic Grievance in a sentence

  • Within five (5) work days of the oral response, if the grievance is not resolved, it shall be stated in writing on the "Academic Grievance" form as provided by the District (and shown as Exhibit "A" of this Agreement), signed by the grievant (or Federation Representative), and presented to his/her supervisor (or designee) at the ▇▇▇▇ level or above.

  • Student grievances of academic matters shall be the purview of the Academic Grievance Committee of Academic Senate and shall follow the procedures established by that committee.

  • Within five (5) work days of the oral response, if the grievance is not resolved, it shall be stated in writing on the "Academic Grievance" form as provided by the District (and shown as Exhibit "B" of this Agreement), signed by the grievant (or Federation Representative), and presented to his/her supervisor (or designee) at the ▇▇▇▇ level or above.

  • Within five (5) work days of the oral response, if the grievance is not resolved, it will be stated in writing on the "Academic Grievance" form as provided by the District (and shown as Exhibit "B" of this Agreement), signed by the grievant (or Federation Representative), and presented to their supervisor (or designee) at the ▇▇▇▇ level or above.

  • As outlined in the Academic Grievance Process in the Student Handbook, meet with students to resolve academic grievances that have not been resolved by the faculty member.

  • Within five (5) work days of the oral response, if the grievance is not resolved, it will be stated in writing on the "Academic Grievance" form as provided by the District (and shown as Exhibit "D" of this Agreement), signed by the grievant (or Federation Representative), and presented to their supervisor (or designee) at the ▇▇▇▇ level or above.

  • If a grievance arises from the Student Academic Grievance Procedure or Article 24 of UPM/MCCD CBA, UPM or any other grievant shall initiate such a grievance at Step 2 of the Grievance Procedure.

  • To the extent that the College continues to use the Non-Academic Grievance Procedure for discrimination complaints, the College will revise the Non- Academic Grievance Procedures to provide a prompt and equitable resolution of complaints of age discrimination.

  • The following three (3) academic disciplinary actions are eligible for grievance/appeal as per the process delineated in the Residents’/Fellows’ Academic Grievance and Appeal policy found in the Housestaff Manual: (i) Extension of Training Period, (ii) Non-renewal of Contract, and (iii) Termination.
