It had been suggested that a decoy would cost only 1/30th of a V-bomber and that scaling back the V-Force by 20 bombers would fund 600 decoys. Unfortunately, these calculations were wrong – they failed to take account of decoy assembly site and launch site costs. This reduced the cost advantage to 1/6th of a bomber.
