Work Connections. When an Employee is absent from work due to illness for more than 10 consecutive work days (2 workweeks), the case must be referred to Work Connections. Either the Employee's department may make the referral, or the Employee may self-refer. Work Connections will coordinate communication and documentation regarding all medical aspects of the case with the Employee, physicians, and the department (when possible). It remains the Employee's responsibility to communicate with their department regarding their employment status, leave of absence, and FMLA requests, reporting of PTO and Extended Sick Time and return to work.
