Travel to Conferences, Workshops. Travel to approved conferences, meetings, workshops, training sessions and other work related events shall be considered official County business. The agency head shall have the responsibility to determine whether a privately owned or County owned vehicle should be used for such trips. In planning travel, consideration shall be given to routes which minimize both time and cost to and from the destination. Employees traveling on official County business are expected to exercise care in incurring expenses, and to avoid excessive or unnecessary costs by planning for the minimum amount of travel and the most economical mode of transportation to the destination. In all cases, the agency head or designee shall have final approval on advances and/or reimbursements for the agency's employees, consistent with the guidelines issued by the Office of Budget and Finance. If it is determined that the most economical means of travel is by County vehicle, the "General Rules and Regulations for County Vehicles" shall be followed. Requests for overnight or out of state use of pool vehicles must be made prior to the first day of travel.

  • Pre-Job Conferences a) The Employer will notify the Union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award. Prior to the start of each project, a pre-job conference will be held to determine all site-specific issues as outlined in this Agreement. This conference may be conducted via telephone, through a scheduled meeting or by some other practical means as agreed to by the parties.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable.

  • SPECIAL CONFERENCES 24.01 Special conferences for important matters will be arranged between the union and the Human Resources Officer or designee, upon the request of either party. Such meetings shall be between the Union representatives and representatives of the Board. Arrangements for such special conferences shall be made in advance and an agenda of the matters to be taken up at the meeting shall be presented at the time the conference is requested.   • School Conference and Activities Leave Leaves of absence without pay of up to a total of sixteen (16) hours during any twelve (12) month period for the purpose of attending school, pre-school or child care provider conferences and classroom activities of the employee's child, provided that such conferences and classroom activities cannot be scheduled during non-work hours. When the need for the leave is foreseeable, the employee shall provide reasonable prior notice of the leave to their immediate supervisor and shall make a reasonable effort to schedule the leave so as not to disrupt the operations of the Employer. Employees may use accumulated vacation benefits or accumulated compensatory time for the duration of such leaves.
