Training Needs and Training Fund. The Company will conduct and sponsor training in view of the current and future skill needs of the Company, the size, structure and nature of the operation and so develop employees’ skills relevant to the Company. The Company will establish a Training Fund Pool of $50,000 against which employees can apply for support based on certain criteria. These criteria will be contained in a Training Policy Document to be agreed on and will address the following points: • The Training Team will select and manage applications received from any or all weekly employees. • That the training must have a direct benefit to the Company. • That payment of wages will not be made for attendance at courses outside of normal business hours. • That ONLY the Company will choose any “in-hours” training and the cost of this will not come from the Pool. • That the cost of course training fees and text books will be recompensed on successful completion of a course (or section, year). • Application for study time for courses may be made to the Training Team, however approval must be made by a senior Manager. Payment of the leave will come from the Pool at normal pay rate. • That time to attend exams, during working hours will also be paid from the Pool. Apprentice training costs are not part of the Training Pool Fund. It is recognised that changes in manufacturing, administrative processes and information technology may lead to changes in the way the Company’s activities are performed and in a change in the structure of duties. Where duties are changed as a result of change in technology, training will be offered in this new technology. Duties where appropriate will be expanded in manufacturing and administrative functions replacing duties lost to new technology. Every effort will be made to find duties commensurate with skills and competencies. Training will be provided where necessary to develop skills and competencies to support changes in duties.

  • EDUCATION AND TRAINING FUND 22.01 i) The Employer shall contribute to the Union the sum of Five cents ($.05) per hour per full- time employee for each hour worked for education and training of Union members.

  • Education and Training The foundation of this Program is education and voluntary compliance. It is recognized that alcohol and chemical dependency may make voluntary cessation of use difficult, and one of the Program’s principal aims is to make voluntary steps toward ending substance abuse easily available. The outside contractor shall review and develop on-going educational and training information on the adverse consequences of substance abuse and the responsibility to avoid being under the influence of alcohol or chemicals at work. Certain training required by the DOT Regulations shall be the responsibility of the Substance Abuse Program.

  • STUDENTS AND TRAINEES 1. Payments which a student, business apprentice or trainee who is or was immediately before visiting a Contracting State a resident of the other Contracting State and who is present in the first-mentioned State solely for the purpose of his education or training receives for the purpose of his maintenance, education or training shall not be taxed in that State, provided that such payments arise from sources outside that State.

  • EDUCATION AND TRAINING TRUST FUND 45.01 The Employer shall contribute four hundred ($400.00) dollars per calendar year into the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local No. 832, Education and Training Trust Fund.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • Apprenticeship and Training It is agreed that all Employers covered by this Agreement shall contribute a sum as listed in Schedule "A" herein for each compensable man-hour of Carpenters, including supervisory employees when covered by this Agreement. Said contribution shall be made to xxx Xxxxxxxxxx- Employers Apprenticeship and Training Trust Fund of Washington-Idaho the manner as set forth in the Trust Agreement of said Trust. The details of such Apprenticeship and Training Plan established by this Trust Fund and this Trust Fund itself shall continue to be controlled and administered by a Joint Board of Trustees composed of equal representation of labor and management who are signators to the Trust Agreement of the aforesaid Trust Fund. Each Trustee appointed by the Union shall be a member of the Union and employed by the Union and each Management trustee shall be a salaried executive or officer of a signatory Employer, or an employee of an Employer association, on behalf of its member employers.

Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.
