Stakeholder and Investor Engagement. Successful economic development must be firmly grounded in the unique and specific context of an individual community. We will not only work to ensure the project is based on new, innovative and Xxxxxx Paipoonge-specific directions, but that all work is informed by local knowledge, experience, and realities. In part, this will be achieved through a series of stakeholder consultation activities including one-on-one interviews, survey, focus groups and a workshop with the Economic Development Committee. We will work very closely with the Economic Development Officer to ensure that our engagements are focused not only in terms of meeting the right people, but also focused in terms of the length of time we are asking for. It is clear from the wording in the RFP that community engagement is a very important element of the project. With this in mind, we will go beyond the minimum requirements as stated in the RFP. The steps are outlined below. Efforts will be made to guarantee that input is received from all significantly active business sectors as well as those that both the Economic Development Committee and the consulting team deem to be currently under-represented but potentially significant in the future. The engagement is intended to provide insights into the following issues:  Motivations for economic development (e.g. lowering unemployment, improving quality of jobs, population growth, tax assessment increase, cluster growth, etc.)  Opportunities for supply chain development within business sectors (e.g. agriculture, tourism, construction, renewable energy, mining, forestry)  Xxxxxx Paipoonge’s investment readiness (e.g. labour force issues, availability of quality physical infrastructure, business climate as it relates to taxation and regulation, quality of life in relation to housing and recreation)  Strengths and gaps in local economic development services delivery The following is a suggested plan based, at this point, on limited interaction with the community. During the project initiation meeting we will spend time with the Economic Development Committee to ensure the desired target people and groups are participating adequately.   • Representation of Employees An employee shall be entitled to Union representation at an investigative interview or meeting if requested by the employee when that employee reasonably believes that the interview or meeting may result in disciplinary action against him/her. The Union representative's role at an investigative interview or meeting is to consult with the employee.
