Common use of Sick Leave Compensation Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave Compensation. If, at the end of the last pay period of any calendar year, an employee has a balance of more than one thousand two hundred eighty five (1285) hours of accrued but unused sick leave, the hours in excess of one thousand two hundred eighty five (1285) will be converted into a cash payment. Each employee who has accumulated more than one thousand two hundred eighty five (1285), and has no more than four occurrences of sick leave, will be paid a sum equal to one hour worked, at the employee’s regular straight time rate, for every two (2) hours accumulated in excess of one thousand two hundred eighty five (1285) hours.
