Security Tactical Escorting for Eskom Specific Duties. Ad hoc Services (consisting of an armed tactical/unarmed driver, armed tactical/unarmed crew member, or Dog Handler and K9 Protection Dog, a suitable vehicle fit for purpose) will be required for security tactical escorting services on an “as and when” required basis. Security tactical escorting services entail the escorting of Eskom personnel and contractors, with equipment during and after hours in high risk areas. • Security officer doing the armed escorting duties must comply with all relevant tactical training and be equipped with suitable security and safety equipment. The vehicle used must also be category appropriate for the terrain and escorting task; • The security officer shall be required to meet the Eskom employees at nearest Eskom identified site or predetermined safe place; escort and protect the Eskom employees/Contractors for the required period and then return to where they first met or an alternative safe drop-off point; • The security escort teams must then take up a position for all round defence of the area where the Eskom employees are working and be constantly vigilant; • The armed escort team/s must be in constant contact with a control room for regular reporting and to obtain assistance when needed. • Monitor specified locations, areas or installations for the presence of unauthorized persons, suspicious activities or occurrences that may endanger personnel or cause damage to assets, prevent criminal activities and interruption of the Eskom normal business; • Patrolling of sites at irregular intervals and not in a specific sequence, to detect the presence of unauthorized persons, suspicious activities and/or occurrences that may endanger people and assets; such patrols must be monitored with a device and recorded in the OB for investigation and reference purposes. All armed escort vehicles must be equipped with a local global positioning system or any other vehicle satellite tracking device or system; • Armed Escorting Standard Operating Procedure must be developed in consultation with Eskom Security Division to ensure that all areas and requirements are covered before execution/performance of such functions; • Contractor must ensure that all relevant training requirements for this specialised services are met, Security Officers are declared competent and complies with all relevant legal regulations before deployed for duties; • Contractor must ensure compliance to Armed Escort Services Practice Notes

  • Selection of Subcontractors, Procurement of Materials and Leasing of Equipment The contractor shall not discriminate on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability in the selection and retention of subcontractors, including procurement of materials and leases of equipment.   • Public Posting of Approved Users’ Research Use Statement The PI agrees that information about themselves and the approved research use will be posted publicly on the dbGaP website. The information includes the PI’s name and Requester, project name, Research Use Statement, and a Non-Technical Summary of the Research Use Statement. In addition, and if applicable, this information may include the Cloud Computing Use Statement and name of the CSP or PCS. Citations of publications resulting from the use of controlled-access datasets obtained through this DAR may also be posted on the dbGaP website.
