Common use of Pregnancy, Adoption and Parental Leave Clause in Contracts

Pregnancy, Adoption and Parental Leave. 23.06 After completion of one (1) year of continuous employment, an employee shall be granted Pregnancy Leave without pay for a period not exceeding thirty-seven (37) weeks. Pregnancy Leave may begin before, on or after the expected date of termination of pregnancy ending no later than thirty-seven (37) weeks after the date of the termination of pregnancy. If the natural mother is also taking Parental Leave without pay, in addition to Pregnancy Leave, the leave must end no later than fifty- two (52) weeks after termination of pregnancy.

Pregnancy Leave may begin before, on or after seventeen (17) weeks before the expected date of termination of pregnancy ending no later than thirty-seven eight (37) 8) weeks after the date of the termination of the pregnancy. If the natural mother is also taking Parental Leave without pay, in addition to Pregnancy Leave, the leave Parental Leave must end no later than commence immediately upon the expiry of Pregnancy Leave. Pregnancy Leave and Parental Leave together cannot exceed fifty- two (52) weeks after termination of pregnancyweeks.
