Medical Immunizations and Treatments. The annual influenza immunization of employees is an important safeguard in the protection of the health of the Home’s vulnerable elderly residents and also of the employeeshealth and safety. Upon recommendation of the Medical Officer of Health, all employees may take such treatments as the Officer may direct. If the costs of such treatments are not covered by some other sources the cost will be borne by the Employer. If an employee does not take the recommended course of treatment, or fails to complete it, she shall be placed on an unpaid leave of absence until such time as the situation is resolved. If an employee does not complete a course of treatment initiated by the Employer any subsequent course of treatment required as a result of the same situation shall be undertaken at the employee’s expense. An employee who does not take the recommended course of treatment for verified medical or bona fide religious reasons is entitled to such accommodation as the Employer may direct or, failing that, sick leave if the credits are available.
