Prosthodontics definition

Prosthodontics means that branch of dentistry concerning the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance, and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth or oral and maxillofacial tissues, or both, using biocompatible substitutes. Prosthodontics means the area of dentistry concerned with restoration and maintenance of function by providing artificial replacement for missing natural teeth.
Prosthodontics means that branch of Dentistry which deals with the replacement of missing teeth or oral tissues by artificial means, such as Crown, Bridges and dentures.

  • Prosthodontics is a clinical program focused on alleviating the needs of patients with acquired loss or congenital absence of oral tissues by improving function, comfort and appearance using suitable artificial substitutes made from alloplastic materials.

  • Prosthodontics are not covered within 2 months of interim caries arresting medicament application.

  • Medical physicist means a person trained in evaluating the performance of mammography equipment and facility quality assurance programs and who meets the qualifications for a medical physicist set forth in 41.6(3)“c.”

  • Medical Specialist means any medical practitioner who is vocationally registered by the Medical Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in one of the approved branches of medicine and who is employed in either that branch of medicine or in a similar capacity with minimal oversight.
