Common use of Maternity, Parental and Adoption Leave Clause in Contracts

Maternity, Parental and Adoption Leave. (a) An Employee after completion of the eligibility period shall be entitled to unpaid Maternity, Parental or Adoption Leave for a maximum of fifty-three (53) consecutive weeks, including the voluntary and health-related portions of leave.

(a) An Employee employee who requests parental leave under this article is entitled of up to twelve (12) consecutive weeks of unpaid leave beginning: • for a birth mother, immediately after completion the end of the eligibility period shall be entitled to unpaid Maternityleave taken under Article 17.7 unless the Employer and employee agree otherwise, Parental or Adoption Leave • for a maximum of birth father, after the child birth and within 52 weeks after that event, and • for an adopting parent, within fifty-three two (5352) consecutive weeks, including weeks after the voluntary and health-related portions of leavechild is placed with the parent.

(a) An Employee after completion of the eligibility period Leave Birth or Adoptive Mother A pregnant member or an adoptive mother shall be entitled to unpaid Maternity, Parental or Adoption Leave for a maximum of fifty-three up to seventeen (5317) consecutive weeksweeks of maternity leave and up to thirty-five (35) consecutive weeks of parental leave, including all without pay. The parental leave must immediately follow the voluntary maternity leave. In the event the birth mother dies or is totally disabled, a member who is the father of the child shall be entitled to both maternity and health-related portions of leaveparental leave without pay.
