Leaves of Absence With Pay. It is recognized that leaves of absence with pay are appropriate for illness, personal emergencies, and the performance of certain civic functions. A leave of absence with pay is a leave during which a member of the bargaining unit is not required to perform regular University duties, but is retained on the payroll of the University at his/her normal compensation rate for periods during which s/he is normally on the payroll.
