Leave Without Pay For the purpose of determining a week’s pay for an employee who has been absent on leave without pay for all or part of the 12 month period preceding the separation date, calculation shall be based on the gross ordinary time earnings (calculated in accordance with 2.1 and 2.2 above) as if the employee had been on duty and been paid. 2.4 Years of Service Years of service is the difference between the actual start date and the separation date less the leave without pay.
