Leave for Union Office/Position. (a) On reasonable notice, special leave without pay shall be granted, subject to the operational needs and requirements of the Employer, to Employees who are elected or selected for a full time position with the Union for as long as she/he remains in the position, without loss of seniority or classification. It is also agreed that any pension or medical benefits may be continued for the duration of such special leave, provided the carrier of the plan approves such an arrangement, but the Employee must bear the total costs of any such benefits. Such Employee on leave shall report to work within four (4) weeks of the termination of her/his Union position/appointment and shall have the time spent on such special leave credited to her/his seniority. An Employee must notify the Employer of his or her intention to return to work four (4) weeks in advance of the expiration of the leave.

  • Leave for Union Office Upon request of the Union's President, the Employer will grant leaves of absence without pay to bargaining unit employees who serve as Union representatives or officers for up to one- hundred twenty (120) days, if it is consistent with operational needs. This leave will be for no more than one time per year per employee and no more than fifteen (15) employees per year who must be from different Departments. Such employees will not be separated from the payroll and will be restored to their previous positions at the conclusion of such leaves.

  • Union Office Space The Employer will provide an office not less than twelve (12) square meters in size.

  • Union Office Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Hospital will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year (in the case of the Union President, two (2) calendar years) from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. Seniority and service shall accumulate during such leave to the maximum provided, if any, under the provisions of the Collective Agreement. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence.

  • Union Officers Employees hereafter elected or appointed to full­ time Union office shall be granted a leave of absence without loss of sen­ iority but without accumulating seniority during the period of the leave of absence.

  • Union Officers and Committee Members Union Officers and Committee Members shall be entitled to leave their work during working hours in order to carry out their functions under this Agreement, including, but not limited to, the investigation and processing of grievances, attendance at meetings with the Employer, participation in negotiations and arbitration. Permission to leave work during working hours for such purposes shall first be obtained from the immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. All time spent in performing such Union duties, including work performed on various committees, as referred to in this Agreement, shall be considered as time worked.
