Hours other than continuous work 16.14.3(a) This subclause will apply to shift workers not upon continuous work as hereinbefore defined. The ordinary hours of such shift workers will not exceed: • 38 in any week to be worked in five shifts of up to eight hours; or • 76 in fourteen consecutive days in which case an employee will not, without payment for overtime, be required to work more than eight consecutive hours on any shift or more than five shifts in any week; or • 114 in 21 consecutive days in which case an employee will not, without payment of overtime, be required to work more than eight consecutive hours on any shift or more than six shifts in any week. 16.14.3(b) Such ordinary hours will be worked continuously except for meal breaks at the discretion of the Council. An employee will not be required to work for more than six hours without a break for a meal. 16.14.3(c) Except at regular changeover of shifts an employee will not be required to work more than one shift in each 24 hours.
