Holidays for Seasonal Appointments. Upon completion of 30 days of employment with the County over the previous 12 month period, employees who occupy a seasonal position, as designated by Human Resources, are eligible to receive one (1) paid holiday per fiscal year provided that they have worked at least 37.5 or 40 hours (dependent on employee’s classification) during the pay period preceding the recognized holiday and is also in paid status during the pay period in which the holiday occurs. Holiday pay shall be limited to 7.5 hours or 8.0 hours for employees who worked a full-time schedule (75 or 80 hours based on classification) during the preceding pay period and shall be pro-rated for employees who worked a part-time schedule during the preceding pay period. Compensation for time worked on a holiday shall be paid at the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay plus an in-lieu paid holiday (7.5 or 8.0 hours for an employee who worked a full-time schedule the preceding pay period) that may be taken within the same pay period or at another time per authorization of the employee’s supervisor.

  • Medical Appointments Medical appointments may be charged to sick leave, provided the minimum time charged is not less than one-half (1/2) hour. Each absence shall be reported separately and authorized in advance by the employee's immediate supervisor.
