Formal Step With Nurse and Clinical Manager/ Director. If the issue is not resolved, then within ten (10) days of the informal hearing the grievance may be elevated to Step 2 as provided herein. If Step 1 is not used, within fourteen (14) days from the date the grievance arose or the date the nurse was or should have been aware that the grievance existed, the nurse shall reduce the grievance to writing and present it to the nurse’s clinical manager or director (or designee). A meeting between the nurse (and local unit officer, if requested by the nurse) and the clinical manager or director (or designee) shall be held within ten (10) days of the receipt of the Step 2 grievance for the purpose of resolving the grievance. The clinical manager or director (or designee) shall respond in writing to the nurse within the (10) days following the Step 2 grievance meeting. A grievance concerning termination or suspension may be initially presented at Step 2 of this grievance process.
