Expedited External Medical Appeal. An Expedited External Appeal is a request for immediate review, by an Independent Review Organization (IRO). The request may be simultaneously filed with a request for an internal Expedited Appeal, since the Independent Review Organization assigned to conduct the expedited external review will determine whether the request is eligible for an external review at the time of receipt. We will forward all pertinent information for Expedited External Appeal requests to the IRO so the review may be completed within seventy-two (72) hours of receipt.

Expedited External Medical Appeal. An Expedited External Review is a request for immediate review, by an Independent Review Organization (IRO) randomly assigned by the Louisiana Department of Insurance, of an initial Adverse Determination not to Authorize continued services for Members currently in the emergency room, under observation in a facility or receiving Inpatient care. Expedited External Appeals are not provided for review of services previously rendered. An Expedited External Appeal of an adverse decision is available if pursuing the standard Appeal procedure could seriously jeopardize the Member’s life, health or ability to regain maximum function; or when in the opinion of the treating physician, the Member may experience pain that cannot be adequately controlled while waiting for a decision on a second level standard Appeal. An Expedited External Appeal is also available if the Adverse Determination involves a denial of coverage based on a determination that the recommended or requested health care service or treatment is deemed experimental or Investigational; and the covered person's treating Physician certifies in writing that the recommended or requested health care service or treatment that is the subject of the Adverse Determination would be significantly less effective if not promptly initiated. The request may be simultaneously filed with a request for an expedited internal review, since the Independent Review Organization assigned to conduct the expedited external review will determine whether the request is eligible for an external review at the time of receipt. We will forward all pertinent information to the IRO so the review is completed no later than seventy- two (72) hours of receipt. Any decision rendered by the IRO is binding on Us and the Member. This Appeals process shall constitute the Member’s sole recourse in disputes concerning determinations of whether a health service or item is or was Medically Necessary, except to the extent that other remedies are available under State or Federal law.

In pursuit of the objectives in Article 149 (Objectives), the Parties will encourage and facilitate, as appropriate, the following activities, including, but not limited to: (a) encouraging dialogue on Traditional Medicine policies and promotion of respective Traditional Medicine; (b) raising awareness of active effects of Traditional Medicine; (c) encouraging exchange of experience in conservation and restoration of Traditional Medicine; (d) encouraging exchange of experience on management, research and development for Traditional Medicine; (e) encouraging cooperation in the Traditional Medicine education field, mainly through training programs and means of communication; (f) having a consultation mechanism between the Parties' Traditional Medicine authorities; (g) encouraging cooperation in Traditional Medicine therapeutic services and products manufacturing; and (h) encouraging cooperation in research in the fields of Traditional Medicine in order to contribute in efficacy and safety assessments of natural resources and products used in health care.

  • Synchronization, Commissioning and Commercial Operation 4.1.1 The Power Producer shall give at least thirty (30) days written notice to the SLDC and GUVNL, of the date on which it intends to synchronize the Power Project to the Grid System.

  • Legal Appeals a. Nothing contained in these provisions is intended to limit or impair the rights of any vendor or Contractor to seek and pursue remedies of law through the judicial process. Appendix C Appendix C, Contract Modification Procedure, attached hereto, is hereby expressly made a part of this Contract as fully as if set forth at length herein. Appendix D Appendix D, Pricing Schedules, attached hereto, is hereby expressly made a part of this Contract as fully as if set forth at length herein.   • How to Request an External Appeal If you remain dissatisfied with our medical appeal determination, you may request an external review by an outside review agency. In accordance with §27-18.9-8, your external appeal will be reviewed by one of the external independent review organizations (IRO) approved by the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner. The IRO is selected using a rotational method. Your claim does not have to meet a minimum dollar threshold in order for you to be able to request an external appeal. To request an external appeal, submit a written request to us within four (4) months of your receipt of the medical appeal denial letter. We will forward your request to the outside review agency within five (5) business days, unless it is an urgent appeal, and then we will send it within two (2) business days. We may charge you a filing fee up to $25.00 per external appeal, not to exceed $75.00 per plan year. We will refund you if the denial is reversed and will waive the fee if it imposes an undue hardship for you. Upon receipt of the information, the outside review agency will notify you of its determination within ten (10) calendar days, unless it is an urgent appeal, and then you will be notified within seventy-two (72) hours. The determination by the outside review agency is binding on us. Filing an external appeal is voluntary. You may choose to participate in this level of appeal or you may file suit in an appropriate court of law (see Legal Action, below). Once a member or provider receives a decision at one of the several levels of appeals noted above, (reconsideration, appeal, external), the member or provider may not ask for an appeal at the same level again, unless additional information that could affect such decisions can be provided.

  • Synchronisation Commissioning and Commercial Operation 8.1 The Developer shall provide at least forty (40) days advanced preliminary written notice and at least twenty (20) days advanced final written notice to ESCOM of the date on which it intends to synchronize the Power Project to the Grid System.

  • Clinical 2.1 Provides comprehensive evidence based nursing care to patients including assessment, intervention and evaluation.
