Disciplinary Action Same as in CBA. APPENDIX “E” – PLACEMENT OF TEMPORARY OR PERMANENTLY DISABLED EMPLOYEES PURPOSE: This policy provides for the placement of District employees in modified duty assignments when temporarily disabled, ensuring maximum manpower utilization in an effort to reduce costs. DEFINITIONS: Modified Duty – Work that eliminates, minimizes, or modifies certain lifting, walking or other physical or mental requirements that prevent an employee from returning to regular work. May also mean performing all regular aspects of the job, but at a reduced number of hours per week.
