Cottage Industries. Cottage industries are being promoted around the State as a way to create an interest and a market for West Virginia products. It also serves as a method for farm families to supplement their income. It is recognized that cottage industries involving the preparation/processing of food products must be regulated to assure that the products are prepared, processed and handled in an approved facility in a safe and sanitary manner and are free from contamination or adulteration. The BPH will inspect all cottage industries involved in the preparation, processing and handling of food products. This does not include those facilities that come under the regulatory authority of the WVDA and fruit/vegetable stands that do not handle potentially hazardous foods. Processes will be reviewed to determine if they incorporate the public health controls necessary to prevent food borne disease. Each agency will notify the other of the names and addresses of cottage industries as they become aware of them.

Cottage Industries. For residential zoning districts, and incidental and secondary to the use of the dwelling unit, cottage industries shall be allowed subject to the standards in this chapter. (Ord. 182 § 2 (part), 1997)

If remote access is approved, Personnel will use multi-factor authentication, which may include the use of smart cards with certificates, One Time Password (OTP) tokens, and biometrics.
