Compensation for extra shifts. The existing 20 Compensation for Extra Shift (“CES”) incentive plan will 21 continue in effect for the duration of this Agreement. The 22 terms of the CES plan are detailed in Appendix X. (New 23 Appendix) Under the terms of this plan, a CES differential of 24 $24.00 $18.00 per hour shall be paid during a shift designated 25 by the Medical Center as a CES eligible shift to any nurse who 26 is eligible for the differential under the terms of the plan.
Compensation for extra shifts. Compensation for Extra Shifts (CES) is a mechanism to reimburse regularly scheduled Nurses for working shifts in addition to their regularly scheduled shifts. These extra shifts assist the Hospital during periods of high census, high acuity, and when specialty skills are needed. CES must be authorized by the Department Manager or Shift Administrator and approved by the Department Director. CES is authorized only after the master schedule has been posted and when other means of staffing have been exhausted. Program Description

Under 15 the terms of this plan, a CES differential of $20.00 per hour shall be paid during a 16 shift or partial shift designated by the Agency as a CES eligible shift or partial 17 shift to any nurse who is eligible for the differential under the terms of the plan. 18 Upon notification of an evening shift, night shift or Home Infusion vacancy or 19 extended leave the Staffing Committee will convene to evaluate current staffing 20 and potential for initiating CES or other incentive pay to fill open shifts.
