Attendance at Mandatory Training. Where an employee has been directed to attend a specific course, the Employer shall pay normal expenses (pursuant to its usual policy) including the base salary.

Attendance at Mandatory Training. Failure of an employee to attend scheduled mandatory trainings shall be grounds for discipline unless extenuating circumstances made attendance impossible. In extenuating circumstances, as determined by the Employer in its sole discretion, alternative methods for receiving mandatory trainings will be made available to affected employees. Alternative methods for receiving mandatory trainings in extenuating circumstances must be reasonable and applied evenhandedly.
