Alternate Holiday Time Bank. (1) In lieu of payment in cash at the overtime rate for hours worked on a holiday as specified in Article 10, Section 2.B.2 or 4, an employee may request that such compensation be made in the form of Alternate Holiday Time. In lieu of payment in cash at straight time for holidays on which an employee does not work as specified in Article 10, Section 2.B.1 or Section 2.B.2(c), an employee may designate that such holiday compensation be made in the form of Alternate Holiday Time. When compensation for a holiday is made in the form of Alternate Holiday Time, the Alternate Holiday Time shall be placed in the employee’s Alternate Holiday Time Bank.

In lieu of payment in 10 cash at straight time for holidays on which an employee does not work as specified 11 in Article 10, Section 2.B.1 or Section 2.B.2(c), an employee may designate that such 12 holiday compensation be made in the form of Alternate Holiday Time. When 13 compensation for a holiday is made in the form of Alternate Holiday Time, the 14 Alternate Holiday Time shall be placed in the employee’s Alternate Holiday Time 15 Bank.

  • Paid Holiday Bank Employees qualify in accordance with the collective agreement. The paid holidays are identified in the Collective Agreement. Credit to the paid holiday bank will occur on the date of the holiday. Drawing from the paid holiday bank will occur at an accelerated rate of 1.25 hours paid for every hour taken (i.e. 11.25 hours worked equals 14.05 hours paid; 7.5 hours worked equals 9.375 hours paid).

  • Work on a Paid Holiday A) Regular Employee

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Paid Holiday Pay Payment for holidays will be made at an employee’s basic pay, except if an employee has been working in a higher paid position than her regular position for a majority of the sixty (60) working days preceding her holiday, in which case she shall receive the higher pay.

  • Holiday Week In the event that a holiday is celebrated during the week (Monday through Friday), the remaining four days of the week may be worked as a four ten shift at the straight time rate on a voluntary basis with three (3) days’ notice to the Union. In the event the job is down due to weather conditions, then Saturday may, at the option of the Employer be worked as a voluntary make-up day at the straight time rate.

  • HOLIDAYS AND HOLIDAY PAY 117. A holiday is calculated based on an eight (8) hour day. The following days are designated as holidays:

  • Statutory Holiday Pay Employees who qualify for statutory holiday pay shall be paid an average day's pay on the Statutory Holidays above, based on the following: amount paid / days worked. “Amount paid” is the amount earned by the employee for work done during the thirty (30) calendars day period preceding the statutory holiday, including vacation pay but excluding overtime pay. “Days worked” is the number of days the employee worked or earned wages during that thirty (30) calendar day period.

  • Overtime on a Holiday (a) Where an Employee is required to work overtime on a paid holiday, as defined in Article 18.01, she will receive compensation equal to 3.33 times her regular rate as follows:

  • Floating Holiday All employees except intermittent, emergency, and temporary employees shall also receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement. However, seasonal employees shall be eligible for only one (1) floating holiday per season and intermittent employees shall receive one (1) floating holiday each fiscal year of this Agreement if they complete ninety-one (91) working days in that fiscal year. Unless waived by the supervisor, the employee must request the floating holiday at least fourteen (14) calendar days in advance. The Appointing Authority may limit the number of employees that may be absent on any given day subject to the operational needs of the Appointing Authority. Any conflicts for requested holidays shall be resolved on the basis of State Seniority within the employee's work unit. The Appointing Authority shall make a reasonable effort to approve the requested holiday. Floating holidays may not be accumulated. An employee who has not requested the floating holiday by March 1 of each fiscal year or by thirty (30) calendar days prior to the end of an employee's season shall be scheduled to take a floating holiday on a day chosen by the Appointing Authority or be paid for the floating holiday in cash at the option of the Appointing Authority.
