Absence for public service. (a) Any employee who is a candidate for a municipal council, a school board, a hospital administrative board or a CLSC may obtain a leave without pay not exceeding thirty-five (35) working days. The employee may take his accumulated vacation days within these thirty-five (35) days.

Absence for public service. 9.01 The employee candidate with the performance of a civic duty is entitled to a thirty (30) days unpaid leave preceding the date by election. If she is elected to that the station, she is entitled to an unpaid leave for the duration of her mandate, if it is about a mandate requiring a full availability of its share. In this case, the employee preserves her seniority. At the end of her mandate, the employee will have to warn in writing the employer at least fifteen (15) days in advance of its desire of to resume work.

  • Personnel Selection Leave 35.6.1 Where an employee participates in a personnel selection process for a position in the Public Service, as defined in the Financial Administration Act, the Council shall grant leave of absence with pay for the period during which the employee's presence is required for purposes of the selection process, and for such further period as the Council considers reasonable for the employee to travel to and from the place where his presence is so required.
