PASARR definition

PASARR means preadmission screening and annual resident review.
PASARR means the preadmission screening and annual resident review required under the omnibus budget reconciliation act of 1987, section 1919(e)(7) of the social security act, 42 USC 1396r.
PASARR means preadmission screening and annual resident review, which is the 2-step screening process for mental illness and mental retardation as described in A.R.S. § 36-2936. The level I screening is used to identify potentially men- tally ill (MI) or mentally retarded (MR) individuals before nursing facility admission.   • It also means the date of the determination made by a State with regard to the PASARR requirements of Section 1919(e)(7) of the Social Security Act.

  • A facility must coordinate assessments with the preadmission screening and resident review (PASARR) program under Medicaid in subpart C of this part to the maximum extent practicable to avoid duplicative testing and effort.
