Eastern Time means Eastern Daylight Time or Eastern Standard Time, whichever is in effect on the relevant date.

Examples of Eastern Time in a sentence

Any extension, termination, or amendment will be followed as promptly as practicable by public announcement, the announcement in the case of an extension to be issued no later than 9:00 a.m., Eastern Time, on the next business day after the previously scheduled Expiration Date, in accordance with the public announcement requirement of Rule 14d-4(c) under the Exchange Act.
We may extend the period of time the Offer will be open by issuing a press release or making some other public announcement by no later than 9:00 A.M., Eastern Time, on the next business day after the Offer otherwise would have expired.

Clearance must be obtained in advance, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on the day of the trade.
