Business Employee on Leave definition

Business Employee on Leave means a Business Employee who is not actively at work due to an approved long-term disability leave of absence.
Business Employee on Leave has the meaning ascribed thereto in Section 7.05(a).
Business Employee on Leave means each Business Employee who is receiving short-term or long-term disability benefits or is on leave of absence as of immediately prior to the Closing pursuant to a Benefit Plan principally covering employees employed in the United States (including Puerto Rico).

Examples of Business Employee on Leave in a sentence

  • A Business Employee or Business Employee on Leave who receives and timely accepts an offer of employment with the Buyer in accordance with its terms must commence active employment with the Buyer on his or her Hire Date or Late Hire Date, as applicable, to become a “Buyer Employee”.

  • The Seller and its Affiliates will not, directly or indirectly, (i) interfere with the Buyer’s access to a Business Employee or Business Employee on Leave or any offer of employment to a Business Employee or Business Employee on Leave, or (ii) recommend or suggest that any Business Employee or Business Employee on Leave decline the Buyer’s offer of employment.

  • Unless otherwise specified in this Agreement, for any Business Employee on Leave, references in this Agreement to the “Closing Date” shall be treated as references to the first day and time at which the applicable Business Employee on Leave commences employment with Purchaser or one of its Affiliates (including the Group Companies) following such Business Employee on Leave’s return to work.

  • Business Employee means any individual employed by Seller in or in connection with the Business.

  • Business Employees has the meaning set forth in Section 4.10(a).

  • Transferred Employee has the meaning set forth in Section 6.01(a).

  • U.S. Employee means a person who is an employee of the Company (or of any Subsidiary) for purposes of section 422 of the Code.

  • Company Employee means any current or former employee, independent contractor or director of the Company or any Company Affiliate.

  • Active Employees means all employees employed on the Closing Date by Seller for its business who are employed exclusively in Seller’s business as currently conducted, including employees on temporary leave of absence, including family medical leave, military leave, temporary disability or sick leave, but excluding employees on long-term disability leave.

  • Newly hired employee or “New Hire” means any employee, whether permanent, full-time, or part-time, hired by the Office and who is still employed as of the date of new employee orientation. It also includes all employees who are or have been previously employed by the Office and whose current position has placed them in the bargaining unit represented by CSEA. For those latter employees, for purposes of this article only, the “date of hire” is the date upon which the employees’ employment status changed as such that the employee was placed in the CSEA unit.

  • Active Employee means a contributing member of the TRS who is employed by a public school and is not entitled to coverage under a plan provided under Insurance Code Chapter 1551 (Texas Em- ployees Group Benefits Act) or 1601 (State University Employees Uniform Insurance Benefits Act).

  • Retained Employee does not include any individual who has a direct or an indirect ownership interest of at least five percent (5%) in the profits, equity, capital, or value of the Taxpayer, or a child, grandchild, parent, or spouse, other than a spouse who is legally separated from the individual, of any individual who has direct or indirect ownership interest of at least five percent (5%) of the profits, equity, capital or value of the Company.

  • Part-Time Employees means employees employed on a permanent basis, but obligated to work less than a full (i.e., forty-hour) work week.

  • Active Employment means you must be actively at work for the Sponsor:

  • Hired Employee has the meaning set forth in Section 6.1.6.

  • Company Employees shall have the meaning set forth in Section 6.10(a).

  • Excluded Employees shall have the meaning set forth in Section 5.1.2.

  • Casual Employees means employees who are employed on a casual basis and includes persons who are employed for periods not exceeding five days at any one time.

  • Tipped employee means any employee engaged in an occupation in which s/he customarily and regularly receives more than $30 per month in tips. Tips include amounts designated as a tip by credit card customers on their charge slips. Nothing in this rule prevents an employer from requiring employees to share or allocate such tips or gratuities on a pre-established basis among other employees who customarily and regularly receive tips. Employer-required sharing of tips with employees who do not customarily and regularly receive tips, such as management or food preparers, or deduction of credit card processing fees from tipped employees, shall nullify allowable tip credits towards the minimum wage.

  • Continuing Employee has the meaning set forth in Section 6.7(a).

  • Transferred Employees has the meaning set forth in Section 6.4(a).

  • Part-time employee means an employee who is normally required to work less than the basic hours of work.

  • Excluded Employee means an employee as defined in section 3527, subd. (b) of the Government Code (Ralph C. Dills Act) except those excluded employees who are designated managerial pursuant to section 18801.1 of the Government Code.

  • Inactive Employee means an employee who is not actively at work due to approved leave of absence, short-term disability leave or military leave.

  • Qualifying Employee means any employee of Managing Agent or Parent or any of their respective subsidiaries who is and has been an employee of Managing Agent or Parent or any of their respective subsidiaries for at least thirty-six (36) months.

  • Seasonal employment means the employment of 1 or more individuals primarily hired to perform services during regularly recurring periods of 26 weeks or less in any 52-week period other than services in the construction industry.

  • Part-time employment means any employment or combination of one or more employments in a civil division in which an individual works fifty percent (50%) or less of the time prescribed as the standard work week by the governing body or other appropriate authority of the civil division or where the employee earns not more than one-half (1/2) of the rate assigned to the position if the position has been allocated to a graded salary schedule.

  • Protected Employees means employees of the Company or its affiliated companies who were employed by the Company or its affiliated companies at any time within six (6) months prior to the Determination Date.

  • Contract employee means a probationary faculty employee or a grant- funded employee hired on a year-to-year basis in accordance with Education Code 87470.
