Common use of Work in Advance of Shift Clause in Contracts

Work in Advance of Shift. When an employee, at the request of the Employer, reports for work in advance of the assigned shift and continues working during the scheduled shift, all hours worked prior to the scheduled shift shall be paid at one and one-half (1½) times the regular rate of pay. Exempt from this provision are the Medical Assistants and Medical Assistant Leads who, as a requirement for their job, travel to satellite locations and need to begin their day prior to their typically standard start time. In addition, employees working in the Oregon Cardiology Clinic may flex their time by mutual agreement and be exempt from this provision.
